Charger’s Late Game Push Not Enough

Lancaster, PA- The Charger's valiant effort Friday night, battling back from a 13 point first half deficit, wasn't quite enough falling to Davis College 81-79. Lancaster committed a season low nine turnovers, forced the visiting Falcons into 18 miscues, and led by five points with less than six minutes to play but could not come away with the win.

 

The Chargers started off slow falling behind by13 midway through the first period. Behind sophomore Eric Nulf's (Fayetteville, NC) 10 first half points Lancaster pulled within three at the break, 37-34.

 

The Falcons had an answer for everything the Chargers did through the first 12 minutes of the second half, keeping the three point advantage until the eight minute mark when the Chargers took control 56-53. Lancaster's lead was short lasted, when the visitors went up for good 66-65 with three and half minutes left to play. The Chargers refused to give up, cutting a seven point lead down to two over the final 46 seconds. The Falcon's Perry Daniel iced the game going 4-4 from the stripe in the final minute.

 

Eric Nulf went 4-5 from the field, including 3-3 from deep, on his way to 15 points and a team high seven rebounds. Senior, Billy Harrison (Douglassville, PA) led the team with 16 points, and Kevin Keltner (Menomonee Falls, WI) chipped in 14 on 6-11 shooting. Perry Daniel led Davis with 20 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists.

 

The Chargers look to bounce back on Monday, when they travel to Mt. Aloysius for a rematch scheduled for 7:00 PM.
