The road back to the East Region Final began Tuesday for the Lancaster Bible College Men's Soccer team. In their first match since losing 3-2 to Philadelphia Biblical University last fall, the Chargers (0-1) fell to Stevenson 6-1 in Maryland.
LBC's only goal came from junior
Jordan Westphal who scored on a pass from sophomore
Lawrence Lartey in the 59th minute.
The Chargers were kept in the game by goal keeper
Jake Kreider who made 12 saves in his 70 minutes of play. Kreider stopped everything from corners to breakaways throught the match.
"Jake played great for us today," Head Coach Josh Beers said. "Without him it could have been 10-0."
Stevenson (1-0) got goals from six different players and outshot the Chargers 35-9.
"There are some things we need to work on defensively, but I think overall this will be a great learning experience for us," Beers said.
Charger sophomore
Cory Greiser led the way with three shots on goal.
LBC returns to action on Friday when they will travel to Pitt-Greensburg at 4:00 p.m.
