Chargers Split Tri-Match at Valley Forge Christian

Having lost five matches in a row, the Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team was looking for a boost Thursday as they traveled to Valley Forge Christian College for a tri-match with the Patriots and Philadelphia Biblical University.

Powered behind a balanced attack, the Chargers (3-7) got their boost as they swept the Patriots (0-9) in the opening match 3-0. They won by game scores of 25-17, 25-10, 25-20.

"We played well against Valley Forge," Head Coach Lauren Mable said. "It was a much needed win and gave us a boost before facing PBU."

The Crimson Eagles (7-4), winners of four straight, fought off a pesky LBC team and won by a score of 3-0. PBU prevailed 25-18, 25-17, 25-22.

"I thought we played well despite the score," Mable said.

The Chargers head to Doylestown on Saturday to take on Immaculata and Delaware Valley in another tri-match. The opening match against the Mighty Macs is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., while the Chargers will take on the Aggies at 3:00 p.m.
