The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team opened their 2010 season in Langhorne, Pa. Tuesday night against Philadelphia Biblical University and lost 3-0.
The Crimson Eagles started quickly and never let up, defeating the Chargers 30-10, 30-16, 30-13.
Despite the loss, Chargers' Head Coach
Ben Bewley thought the team battled and the match provided an early season reminder of how hard each player must work for the team to be competitive.
"It was definitely a learning experience for the guys tonight," Bewley said. "We played a team that had more talent then us, but that is going to be a good for us in the long run. It shows just how hard we have to work to be a good team."
Though their offense isn't where Bewley wants it, he was pleasantly surprised with the defensive effort.
"We played much better defense than I expected," Bewley said. "We battled on the defensive end."
The Chargers (0-1) are back in action this Saturday when they head to Stevenson, Md. to take on CCNY and Stevenson. LBC takes on CCNY at noon and will face the host Mustangs at 2:00 p.m.
