Chargers Fall to Ohio Christian

The Lancaster Bible College women's basketball team lost their opening game of a two-day trip to Ohio, falling to Ohio Christian 68-49.

The teams were tied 12-12 seven minutes into the game, before Ohio Christian's shooters got hot and went on a 30-15 run, taking a 42-27 lead into the half.

"I challenged the ladies at halftime to slow down their offense and add more pressure in the second half," Charger Head Coach Bob Shannon said.

The women responded, holding Ohio Christian to 26 second half points.

LBC's Vanessa Clemenson had 10 points, while Kelsee McLaughlin added eight points. Though they lost, Shannon was pleased with the effort the Chargers' showed in the first game since December 10.

"They responded well in the second half and Ohio is the number three team in NCCAA Division II. They made less mistakes than we did," Shannon said.

The Chargers (2-8) are back in action tonight when they face Kentucky Christian at 5:30 p.m.
