The Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team went 1-1 on the first day of the NCCAA National Tournament. The Chargers dropped their opening match, 3-0 to Maranatha Baptist Bible College. The Crusaders won, 25-20, 25-19, 25-22.
The afternoon match against Multnomah went back-and-forth in each set, but the Chargers were able to pull out each of the three sets and win, 3-0. LBC (17-21) won 25-22, 27-25, 25-23.
With only the top two teams from each pool advancing, the Chargers will most likely have to win both of their matches on Friday. To do that, they will have to upset the top-seeded Cougars from Clearwater Christian and fifth ranked Grace University.
LBC will take on Clearwater Christian at 10:00 a.m. and face Grace at 2:00 p.m.
