Ferrum's Derek Mitchell had 23 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Panthers (9-0) past Lancaster Bible College, 90-70.
Down 22-21 with six minutes to go in the first half, the Panthers finished the half on a 19-4 run to take a 14-point lead into the break.
"That was the critical part of the game," LBC Head Coach
Pete Beers said. "We were playing well and hanging with them to that point and that run ended up being the difference in the game."
LBC's
Kevin Keltner had 20 points and six assists to lead the Chargers (4-6).
Kody Koser added 13 points, two rebounds and two steals, while
Erich Graybill had 12 points and five rebounds.
The Chargers had their chances to cut into the lead in the second half, but Ferrum continued to make shots and hold their lead.
"We just couldn't get over the hump in the second half," Beers said. "We have to get a little tougher and play well on both ends of the floor."
LBC is back in action on Monday when they host Albright for a Monday matinee at 3:00 p.m.
