It's Over - Chargers Snap Losing Streak

The Lancaster Bible College women's basketball team worked hard everyday throughout their losing streak. While they were frustrated, they never gave up. Wednesday night at Horst Athletic Center, the hard work finally paid off. The Chargers held off a late Penn State-Harrisburg rally and won 57-50.

Nicole Karschner had 15 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the Chargers. Lacy McClaine continued her solid play with 14 points, two rebounds and two steals.

"Lacy had a good solid game again for us," Charger Head Coach Bob Shannon said. "Both Lacy and Nicole really stepped us for tonight and played with intensity and maturity."

Three Lady Lions players played 40 minutes due to a short bench.

"We wanted to speed things up and keep a good pace most of the night," Shannon said. "We knew they had numbers problems tonight and wanted to make sure we used our bench as an advantage."

With the 10-game losing streak history, Shannon expressed how happy he was with the team's play.

"We played very well as a team tonight," Shannon said. "It was a total team effort."

Shannon also expressed his team's abiltiy to follow through on the game plan heading into the game.

"We tried to keep the pressure on them and cut down on their easy baskets," Shannon said. "I thought we did a good job limiting their second chances."

The Chargers (3-15) will look to start a winning streak on Friday when they host Valley Forge Military Academy at 6:00 p.m.
