Turnovers Plague Chargers in Loss to Rosemont

The Lancaster Bible College men's basketball team continued its season-opening three-game road trip on Thursday with a trip to Rosemont and unfortunately for the Chargers, it went about as well as their season-opening loss to Messiah. The Ravens forced 22 LBC turnovers and cruised to a 61-47 victory, dropping the Chargers to 0-2.

"We did a couple of good things, but we still had way too many turnovers," Chargers' Head Coach Pete Beers said.

Those good things included Andrew Risser's 11 points and freshman Corey Leonard's 10 points. Risser was 4-of-8 from the field, while Leonard was a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line.

"Risser played pretty well and Corey had a very nice game for us," Beers said.

The Chargers shot just 30.4 percent in the first half, but improved to 43.5 percent in the second half, but only scored 26 points on 10 buckets.

"We are still finding our identity, but we have to stop making so many bad decisions with the ball," Beers said.

LBC will look to correct their mistakes prior to Tuesday's game with Penn St. Harrisburg. The game will be the first-ever NEAC contest for the men's basketball program. The Chargers will battle the Nittany Lions in Middletown, Pa. at 6 p.m.
