Chargers' Losing Streak at Three After 85-72 Loss to Penn St. Harrisburg

Some good things, but not enough.

That seems to be the theme of the Lancaster Bible College men's basketball season thus far and Tuesday night was no exception as the Chargers shot the ball better, but struggled rebounding and couldn't overcome an early deficit, losing to Penn St. Harrisburg, 85-72.

LBC's Benjamin Scott had a team-high 16 points and nine rebounds, while freshman Kurt Keltner had 15 points and four assists.

"Kurt played hard and Ben gave us some nice numbers tonight," Chargers' Head Coach Pete Beers said.

Despite being in the game the entire 40 minutes, LBC took 29 fewer shots than Penn St. Harrisburg and grabbed 10 fewer offensive boards.

"Again, we did some things right, but there are other things we've worked on since day one that still need work," Beers said. "Give Penn St. Harrisburg credit though, they worked hard and did a good job."

The Chargers fall to 1-23 all-time against Penn St. Harrisburg, with their only win coming during the 2006-07 season when they won, 76-61 in Middletown.

This is the second time in three seasons that LBC has lost its first three games, as they also did it at the start of the 2009-10 season. LBC rebounded that season and made the NCCAA National Tournament as an at-large team. The last time the Chargers lost their first four games of the season was the 2007-08 season when they finished 5-22.

LBC will look to crack the win column on Monday night when they host their only game of the first semester at 8:00 p.m. The Chargers will welcome 17th ranked Franklin & Marshall to Horst Athletic Center for the first time in history.
