Chargers Fight Off Bears, 77-70

Saturday's game against St. Joseph's [Brooklyn] began a stretch of four games in seven days for the Lancaster Bible College men's basketball team. It wasn't pretty, but they're 1-for-1 so far.

Erich Graybill powered the Chargers passed the Bears, 77-70, with his 18 points and 11 rebounds in just 22 minutes. Kevin Keltner added 17 points and 10 boards, while Madison Warfel continued his strong play with 15 points, seven assists and six boards.

"Big E [Graybill] was huge for us tonight," Chargers' Head Coach Pete Beers said. "Madison continues to play well for us and we overcame some sloppy play to get the win."

The sloppy play Beers was referring to was LBC's season-high 28 turnovers.

"They didn't even press us and we still had some issues keeping the ball," Beers said. "But we had a big rebounding advantage and made up for it."

The Chargers (10-12) held a 54-39 rebounding edge and the 54 rebounds are also a season-high.

Andrew Risser had 10 of those 54 rebounds to go with his nine points. Kody Koser, coming off the bench, had 11 points and four boards on 5-of-9 shooting. As a team, LBC shot 46 percent, while holding the Bears (6-18) to 33 percent shooting.

LBC will play its final three regular season games at home. They host Rowan on Monday night at 6 p.m., before playing arch-rival Valley Forge Christian on Wednesday at 8 p.m.

Notes:
-The Bears took 20 more shots then LBC (85-65).

-Wednesday night is also Senior Night for the Chargers as they will honor Keltner and Eric Nulf.

-LBC's final home game will be Saturday against Penn State Berks at 2 p.m. It will be 1970s day as the Chargers honor those who played here in the 70s during halftime.
