The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team took the first set from New Jersey City University on Wednesday night, unfortunately for LBC, the Gothic Knights responded and took the next three sets, winning 3-1.
NJCU (7-8, 2-7) won, 22-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-23, beating the Chargers for the second time in 11 days.
"Tonight was very disappointing," Chargers' Head Coach Ben Bewley said. "It should have turned out better, but our effort wasn't there and it cost us."
Jesse Corbin led the Chargers (1-15, 0-9) with 12 kills and 12 digs, while
Dan McAllister had 12 kills, five digs and three blocks. #A.J. Longacre
added nine kills and 15 digs and Justin Perkins# chipped in with seven kills and 13 digs.
"Dan played very well tonight," Bewley said "And Jesse was good offensively again for us."
The play of the night belonged to Longacre who dove over the LBC bench to keep the ball in play. The Chargers went on to win the point to tie the third set at 16-16.
"A.J. made a great play on the ball," Bewley said. "Unfortunately, we didn't make enough of those hustle plays tonight."
The Chargers return to the floor on Friday when they host Ramapo at 7 p.m.
