Lancaster Bible - Kentucky Christian Game Notes

The Lancaster Bible College men's basketball team is safely in Springfield, Missouri and without further ado, here are the pre-game notes for Tuesday's NCCAA Tournament First Round game against Kentucky Christian University.

-The Chargers are 0-3 all-time against Kentucky Christian...The Knights won, 91-71 in November 2003 in a game played in Portland, Oregon...Two years later, the Knights won in Lancaster, 110-85...and just last season, KCU defeated the Chargers, 61-60 in Lancaster.

-Six players from each team are back from last season's game...The Knights' star, Casey Jones, is also back, but he did not play in last year's game.

-The Knights are the Mid-East Region runner-up...They lost to Ohio Christian, 97-90 in the region final.

-The Chargers are the East Region champion after upsetting top-seeded Valley Forge Christian, 64-62 in the region final.

-The Knights are the eighth seeded team in the 12-team tournament, while the Chargers are ninth.

-KCU and LBC both played Valley Forge Christian this season...The Knights were 1-1 against the Patriots, while the Chargers are 1-2.

-Among NCCAA Division II schools, the Knights are third in points per game with 81.4 and have scored the second most points with 2,197...Both of those stats were prior to the Knights' two Mid-East Region Tournament games.

-KCU is shooting 46.7% from the field, but just 33.7% from beyond the arc...Casey Jones leads the way for KCU with 19.8 points per game, which is eighth best in NCCAA Division II.

-Jones leads the Knights in most categories, including field goals made (188), total rebounds (182) and 3-point field goals made (63).

-The Chargers (13-14) are led by senior Kevin Keltner who averages 13.0 points and 5.2 assists per game.

-Kody Koser leads the team in scoring with 15.3 points per game, while Andrew Risser leads the team in rebounding with 4.5 per contest.

-LBC shoots 43.5% from the floor and 34.9% from beyond the arc...The Chargers are a 69.6% free throw shooting team.

-The Chargers have never won a game at the NCCAA National Tournament...They lost both games in 2007 and 2010.

-The winner of Tuesday's game will advance to face top-seeded Grace Bible College...That game will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday...The loser of Tuesday's game will face the loser of #5 Ohio Christian-#12 Portland Bible on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
