After cruising through the first half of September, the Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team has hit a few bumps in the road during the second half of the month. Tuesday's bump came in the form of 41 kills by host Baptist Bible College as they defeated LBC, 3-0. The Defenders won, 25-19, 25-17, 25-18.
Chargers' Senior
Brittney Becker had seven kills and six digs, while
Niki Endy and
Lauren Hurd each had 10 digs. Junior
Lauren Heliger had a team-high 14 digs. Heliger has had double digit digs in 10 of LBC's 12 matches.
"We just didn't play very well tonight," Chargers' Head Coach
Lauren Bewley said. "We have some work to do and hopefully we can play them again this season."
Jessica White and Laura Grace Hodupp each had 10 kills for BBC and White added 20 digs as well.
The Chargers [8-4 overall, 3-1 NEAC] will face Lycoming in Williamsport, Pa. on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. before resuming NEAC play with the South Division Crossover Weekend this weekend at Penn St. Berks. LBC will face Penn St. Abington and Gallaudet on Saturday before taking on College of St. Elizabeth and Penn St. Harrisburg on Sunday.
