Chargers Play Well in Loss to Lycoming

After coming out flat and not performing on Tuesday against rival Baptist Bible College, the Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team traveled to Williamsport, Pa. on Thursday looking to get back on track. Though they failed to earn their ninth win, significant progress was made as the Chargers prepare for the NEAC South Division Crossover Weekend.

LBC lost to Lycoming, 3-0 [25-20, 25-23, 25-23], but played well in each set and helped set a tone they hope to keep through the weekend.

"We played very well," Chargers' Head Coach Lauren Bewley said. "We played great defense and everyone contributed tonight."

Junior Lauren Heliger led LBC with 14 kills and a career-high 22 digs. Lauren Hurd added 17 digs of her own, while Lauren Donato had 10 kills and 16 digs.

"I feel like we are back on track as a team," Bewley said. "We played as a team and there have been few times that we have played this well defensively."

LBC [8-5 overall, 3-1 NEAC] will take on Penn St. Abington and Gallaudet on Saturday and College of St. Elizabeth and Penn St. Harrisburg on Sunday. All of the matches will take place at Penn St. Berks in Reading, Pa.
