Chargers Fall Just Short

Seventeen lead changes, 12 ties - Saturday afternoon's matchup between Lancaster Bible College and Keuka College had a little bit of everything. Unfortunately for the Chargers, part of that everything was only scoring three buckets in the final 6:25 of the game and giving up a late lead to the Storm as Keuka won, 67-64.

LBC (2-8 overall, 1-3 NEAC) led 57-53 with 6:04 to play, but two layups and a made free throw later and the Chargers found themselves down by one, 58-57. LBC would take one more lead at 62-61 on a layup by Keith Keltner with 3:48 left, but a three-pointer by Keuka's Teddy Tuggles gave the Storm a lead they would not relinquish.

"Today was a good game," Chargers' Head Coach Pete Beers said. "It was back and forth between two evenly matched teams."

Darrell Epps had a game-high 17 points to lead the Chargers, while freshman Kurt Keltner had 15 points and six rebounds. Dan Karl added six points, shooting a perfect 3-for-3 from the floor, for the Chargers who ended their six-game road trip.

"We made some bad decisions, but we battled today," Beers said. "There weren't a lot of pretty things about the game, but we are starting to come together and that could mean good things for us."

The Chargers will host their first game since November 28 on Wednesday when they take on Gallaudet at 2 p.m. in Horst Athletic Center. The Bison defeated the Chargers, 74-54, on December 1 in Washington, D.C.
