Chargers Set for NEAC Playoffs

The Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team will find itself in a very familiar spot on Friday night at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. The fourth-seeded Chargers will face fifth-seeded SUNYIT at 6 p.m. in the NEAC Quarterfinals and it is the same seed LBC held in last season's playoffs. LBC was upset a year ago by fifth-seeded Keuka, 3-1 and their season ended before many of its members felt it should have.

The Chargers are back in the fourth seed, albeit with a very different team, but they still have aspirations that extend past Friday night. A week ago, the Chargers were the top seed in the NCCAA East Region Playoffs and after reaching the East Region Final, were upset by #3 Cairn, 3-1. After shortened week of practice thanks to Hurricane Sandy, the Chargers feel they are ready to take that next step and advance in the NEAC playoffs.

"We have been discussing and practicing taking advantage of every point, every serve, every attack," Chargers' Head Coach Lauren Bewley said. "We need to do a better job of taking control of what we can control. I think if the ladies can perform well in the things they can control, we will be successful."

Below is a preview of LBC's quarterfinal match with SUNYIT.
