Box Score For the second straight season, the Lancaster Bible men's basketball team heads into Christmas Break without a win, as the Chargers lost to Mount Aloysius, 83-70 on Saturday in Cresson, Pa. Demetrius Davis had 27 points, including eight three-pointers, to lead the Mounties.
Both teams were lights out from beyond the arc, as the Mounties made 11 three-pointers and the Chargers made 10. Chargers' senior
Dan Karl had four of LBC's three-pointers en route to a team-high 16 points. Fellow senior
Keith Keltner had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Chargers who dropped to 0-9.
For the second straight game, the Chargers held a three-point halftime lead, 41-38, after shooting 16-of-24 [67%] from the field in the first half, including 8-of-10 from beyond the arc. The Mounties (7-2) shot just 27% from the field in the first half, but took 21 more shots than the Chargers and hauled in 12 offensive rebounds.
The teams battled back-and-forth throughout most of the second half. LBC senior
Caleb Graves cut the Chargers' deficit to four, 71-67, with a three-pointer with 6:27 to play, but the Chargers scored just one more bucket the rest of the game as the Mounties pulled away for a 13-point victory.
Freshman
Dondre Perry added 11 points for the Chargers, while sophomore
Jon Bird had 10 points. The turnover bug, which LBC thought they had fixed, came back to bite them on Saturday as well as the Chargers committed 29 turnovers.
LBC returns to action on Wednesday, January 2 when they host Messiah at 7 p.m.
