Mayday, mayday.
The Lancaster Bible College men's basketball team looked as though they had turned a corner over the past two weeks. They had won four of six games and played fairly well in the two losses.
After Monday night's loss at previously 1-19 Penn St. Altoona however, it turns out the distress signal is louder than ever. The Chargers shot just 25.8% from the field and only managed 45 points in a 58-45 loss to the Nittany Lions. LBC was a dismal 2-of-17 from beyond the arc as they fell to 6-14.
"We stunk," Chargers' Head Coach
Pete Beers said. "It was a soft effort and we were poorly prepared."
While all but one LBC player scored at least one point, no one scored more than eight.
Keith Keltner had eight points and 10 rebounds to lead the Chargers, while
Andrew Risser had three points and eight rebounds.
The Chargers had one fewer turnover than Penn St. Altoona, but were out-rebounded by six (45-39) and outscored in the paint, 32-12.
"We will get back to the drawing board and see if we can't find something that works for the last couple of games," Beers said.
Durant Harvin had 16 points to lead the Nittany Lions, while Jordan Wells had 11 points and eight rebounds.
The Chargers will look to turn things around on Wednesday when they host Penn St. Brandywine at 7 p.m.
