Men's Soccer Falls to Keuka, 2-0

Box Score Looking to use the momentum from their first win of the season on Tuesday, the Lancaster Bible men's soccer team headed to upstate New York to take on Keuka. After playing the host Storm even for the first 10 minutes, the Chargers' quick defensive lapse ended with Keuka's Nate Smith scoring the game's first goal, just 12 minutes into the game.

Twenty minutes later, Smith scored again, increasing Keuka's lead to 2-0. With the two-goal cushion, the Storm sat back for the rest of the first half and most of the second half, giving the Chargers some offensive chances, but they could not convert and lost, 2-0.

"We had to lapses that cost us," Chargers' Head Coach Tom Ardt said. "I thought we played with them for almost the whole game, and our pressure on them in the second was excellent. Hats off to their goalkeeper [Preston Vick], he made some big saves."

Ardt said he was pleased with the team's effort, but they have to make sure they play a full 90 minutes.

"We have to limit our defensive breakdowns and make sure we are moving the ball well out of the defensive end," Ardt said. "Our midfielders continue to improve and we just have keep putting forth a good effort."

LBC goalkeeper Tim Landis, Jr. made eight saves for the Chargers, who fell to 1-5-2 this season. They will look to earn their first NEAC victory on Saturday when they face Wells at 2 p.m. in Aurora, N.Y.
