LBC Drops Two Matches at Messiah

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team continued their early season stretch of playing good teams as they faced Messiah and Haverford on Saturday. The two teams are a combined 9-4 this season and both defeated the Chargers, 3-0 on Saturday in Mechanicsburg, Pa.

LBC opened the day by losing to the host Falcons, 25-9, 25-17, 25-22. Chargers' senior Lauren Heliger had 11 kills and 20 digs to lead LBC, while Lauren Daniels had three kills and 16 digs. Naomi Martin and Hannah Metzler also added five kills each for LBC.

"I thought we played good defense across the board," LBC Head Coach Lauren Bewley said. "We're still trying to make adjustments to get better productivity offensively."

In the second match, the Chargers fell to Haverford, 25-14, 25-12, 25-20, but Bewley was more pleased with the team's play.

"We played a much more solid match," Bewley said. "Grace Scheuerman played great defensively, and Lauren Daniels had a couple of great kills."

The Chargers (0-6) are back in action on Tuesday night when they host Gettysburg at 5:00 p.m. and Cedar Crest at 7:00 p.m.
