Mustangs Too Much in Second Half for Chargers

Box Score For the fifth time this season, Lancaster Bible senior Dan Karl scored 20 or more points, but like three times prior to Saturday, the Chargers couldn't secure the victory and spoiled one of Karl's finer days in an LBC uniform. Karl finished with 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting, including 5-of-9 from beyond the arc, but the Chargers were outscored 44-30 in the second half en route to a 72-57 loss to Morrisville State in Morrisville, N.Y.

After trailing by just one at halftime, 28-27, the Chargers couldn't stop the Mustangs early in the second half as the Mustangs opened the half with a 16-7 run in the first six minutes. LBC cut the deficit to five a few times in the middle of the second half, but a jumper by Rhamel Williams with 6:12 to play put the Mustangs up 63-44 and ended the Chargers' hope of earning a victory.

Sophomore Corey Leonard had eight points and seven rebounds for the Chargers (1-13, 1-5 NEAC), while Keith Keltner added seven points and four rebounds.

The Chargers have a week off before they return to the floor against Cazenovia next Sunday. LBC will face the Wildcats at 3 p.m. in Cazenovia, N.Y.
