Box Score As the Lancaster Bible women's basketball team hits the midway point of its schedule, certain trends are beginning to shape and one in particular will continue to lead to victories for the Chargers. On Saturday, for the third time this season and second straight game, the Chargers held an opponent to under 40 points. LBC held Morrisville State to just 15 second half points as they won their fifth straight, defeating the Mustangs, 49-37 in Morrisville, N.Y.
Freshman
Aubrey Folger had a game-high 19 points and nine rebounds for the Chargers, while senior
Lauren Heliger added 12 points and eight boards.
"Aubrey was fantastic," Chargers' Head Coach Doug Helsel said. "Lauren was very good early and really got us started."
Despite the low scoring game, Helsel was impressed with the way the Chargers executed, especially after a few sloppy games.
"Our execution was much better today than the past few games," Helsel said. "I thought we had the best ball movement we've seen in a long time. We had great looks at the basket all game long. We just have to keep working on finishing those chances."
Saturday's win is the 10th this season for LBC. In 41 years of basketball, this is the earliest the Chargers have ever reached the 10-win mark. LBC will look for win number 11 on Wednesday when they host St. Elizabeth at 7 p.m.
Notes:
-The Chargers held opponents to 40 points or less five times last season.
-Folger is currently 10th in the NEAC in scoring, averaging 14.3 points per game.
