Chargers Drop Pair of Matches in Bryn Mawr

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 After a successful weekend in which the Lancaster Bible women's volleyball team went 2-1 and defeated Gwynedd-Mercy and Rutgers-Camden, the Chargers month-long road trip made a stop in Bryn Mawr, Pa. as LBC took on Gettysburg and the host Owls.

Unfortunately for the Chargers, Tuesday was not like the weekend as they lost to both Gettysburg and Bryn Mawr. The Bullets swept LBC, 3-0, while the Owls down the Chargers, 3-1.

In the opening match, Gettysburg forced the Chargers into errors and took advantage as they won, 25-19, 25-9, 25-21. Sisters Emily Olson and Rachel Olson each had five kills for LBC, while junior Katie Coomber led the team with 13 digs.

The Chargers (11-18) woke up a bit in the second match, but the host Owls' big hitter Rachel Ofili mustered 19 kills on 31 attempts to lead Bryn Mawr to the 25-10, 20-25, 25-20, 25-18 victory. Not to be outdone, Coomber had 19 kills of her own to lead the Chargers who had 40 kills as a team. Rachel Olson added 10 more kills, while Tricia Coale and Faith Scheuerman had 11 and 10 kills respectively.

LBC will play its final regular season NEAC matches of the season on Friday and Saturday as they will take on SUNY Cobleskill on Friday and Keuka and Cazenovia on Saturday afternoon. The Chargers currently secure the fifth and final playoff position and with two wins this weekend will wrap-up their third consecutive playoff berth.
