Box Score The Lancaster Bible men's team took to the road on Friday for one of its biggest weekends since joining the NEAC two years ago. With just over a week to go in the regular season, the Chargers are currently in a four-team race for two playoff spots. LBC took on one of those other three teams on Friday and what can only be described as ugly, the Chargers lost to Morrisville State, 3-0.
The Mustangs struck early as Chernor Barrie opened the scoring at the 12:52 mark. Twenty-three minutes later, the lead was stretched to 2-0 by Joe Sheehan who scored on a breakaway from the left-hand side.Â
Any hope of a comeback was quickly put to rest by the Mustangs (9-4-2) as Jacob Chase scored 5:33 into the second frame to make it 3-0 Morrisville State. For the game, the Mustangs outshot the Chargers, 19-4, including 10-0 in the second half.Â
Sophomore goalkeeper Andrew Kofstand made eight saves for the Chargers who will now need to win on Saturday to keep pace with the other NEAC schools in the playoff race. LBC will face Cazenovia on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Cazenovia, N.Y. The Wildcats are currently 3-3 in NEAC play, while the Chargers are 2-3-1. Saturday's game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and LBC will have just one NEAC game remaining (Sun., Oct. 27, 1:30 p.m.) after tomorrow's 90 minutes.
