Box Score The Lancaster Bible men's soccer team gave everything it could, but playing for the third time in as many days, the Chargers could not muster the energy to battle back from two-goal deficit and lost to Rosemont, 2-1 on Monday to conclude its regular season.
The Ravens led 1-0 at halftime and extended their lead to 2-0 early in the second half on a goal by Yohana Ghede. Chargers Head Coach
Tom Ardt felt both goals were preventable as the ball should have been cleared from the box both times.Â
"We've got to be able to clear that ball going forward from here," Ardt said. "Other than a few other mistakes, I thought we gave a solid effort and moved the ball pretty well."
Senior
Kyle Lambertson scored for the second time in two days as he put home a rebound with 1:54 to play to cut the deficit to one goal.Â
"Great heads up play by Kyle to give us a chance to tie the game," Ardt said.Â
For the game, Rosemont held a 16-14 edge in shots, while LBC had eight corner kicks to Rosemont's three. Chargers goalkeeper
Stefan Smith made seven saves as LBC finished the regular season, 6-10-3.
The Chargers will have a little more than two weeks off as they prepare for the NCCAA National Tournament which will be held November 13-16 in Kissimmee, Fla. Â A time and opponent will be determined for LBC's first round game in the coming days.
