Chargers Split at Eastern Mennonite Tri-Match

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 After eight days off, the Lancaster Bible men's volleyball team got back into the swing of things as they split a tri-match held at Eastern Mennonite in Harrisonburg, Va.

The Chargers (2-4) defeated Gallaudet for the second time this season to open the day as they cruised to a 3-0 victory. Mitch Demko led LBC with 11 kills and four blocks, while Joey Brennen added eight kills and four blocks. LBC won, 25-16, 25-14, 25-22 and finished with a 19.7% hitting percentage.

In LBC's second match, the Chargers faced the host Royals and lost, 3-0. EMU won, 25-16, 25-16, 26-24 and improved to 14-0 all-time against the Chargers. Demko once again led the Chargers in kills, this time with eight, while A.J. Longacre had six kills and two blocks.

"I thought we blocked very well and played well as a team," Chargers' Head Coach Evelyn Long said. "EMU is a tough team and though we lost in three, I thought we played at a pretty high level tonight."

The Chargers return to action on Tuesday when they will once again play Gallaudet. The match will be the first North Eastern Athletic Conference match for both teams. After facing the Bison at 5 p.m., LBC will take on Washington Adventist at 7 p.m.
