"Andy came to win today," Chargers' Head Coach Evelyn Long said. "I thought we played pretty well as we only made three unforced errors in the fourth set. Stevenson turned up their play and their big outside, Austin Jacoby, dominated us at the end."
In the second match, the Chargers lost to Baruch, 25-16, 24-26, 25-23, 25-14. Mitch Demko led LBC with 14 kills, while Herron had 10 kills, 14 assists and eight digs. Bahn played well again as he had eight kills, six digs and 28 assists. Nguyen once again led all players with 11 digs.
"We started a little slow, but took advantage of some of their substitutions and won the second set," Long said. "We played tough in the third, but couldn't put it away. I thought Andy played well again and Mitch's .321 hitting percentage was certainly a highlight."
Overall, Long said the team's play was encouraging and should help them as they conclude the regular season and look ahead to the NEAC playoffs.
"The guys worked especially hard tonight against two top-ranked teams," Long said. "We left the court satisfied, yet hungry which is a great place to be at this point in the season."
The Chargers return to the court this weekend when they travel to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. to take part in the Vassar College Invitational.
