Men's Volleyball Wraps Up Regular Season with Split at Stevenson Tri-Match

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 On a day that saw the Lancaster Bible men's volleyball team earn plenty of North Eastern Athletic Conference awards, the Chargers concluded the regular season with a split at a tri-match at Stevenson. The Chargers lost to the host Mustangs, 3-0, but rallied to defeat to Washington Adventist, 3-0 and finish the regular season at 16-15.

In the opener, Alex Bahn, named NEAC Player of the Year earlier on Tuesday, had 12 kills, 15 assists and five digs. Miles Herron, also named to the NEAC First Team, added eight kills, 20 assists and nine digs. The Chargers struggled with their hitting as they had 38 kills, but 28 errors and had just a .095 hitting percentage.

In their second match, the Chargers played everyone and swept the Shock, 3-0. LBC won, 25-17, 25-18, 29-27 as Nathan Diehl had a career-high six kills, while Charlie Hirschy had two kills. Joey Brennen, also named to the NEAC First Team, had a match-high 10 kills, while Andy Nguyen, named NEAC Defensive Player of the Year, had 13 digs.

"We are happy to have ended the year above .500 and accomplish another one of our team goals," Chargers' Head Coach Evelyn Long said.

Long was named NEAC Coach of the Year as well on Tuesday for guiding the Chargers to a perfect 5-0 record in NEAC play. LBC is also the only team in the NEAC to have an overall record above .500.

The Chargers (16-15) await the winner of the Keuka / SUNYIT NEAC Semifinal to see who they will take on in the NEAC Final. The semifinal is scheduled for 11 a.m., while the final will be played at 3 p.m. Both matches will take place at Horst Athletic Center.
