Box Score The Lancaster Bible men's soccer team opened its 2013 campaign with a loss on Saturday in Bethlehem, Pa. as Moravian's Saul Marcial scored with one minute remaining to break a 2-2 tie and give the Greyhounds a 3-2 victory.Â
Despite giving up a goal with a minute to go, the Chargers didn't quit as they had their own opportunity to tie the game, but hit the crossbar with just seconds remaining.
Prior to the final minutes, the Chargers played well as
Marc Cooper and
Josiah Groff each scored their first goals as members of the Lancaster Bible soccer program. Also seeing action for the first time was senior
Dan Karl who played all 90 minutes in goal for the Chargers. Karl made six saves, despite earning the loss.
Cooper also added an assist on Groff's goal, while Nate Grimley collected his first collegiate point when he assisted on Cooper's goal in the first half.
The Chargers return to action on Wednesday when they host Berkeley at 4 p.m.
