Chargers Blanked by Wildcats

Box Score The Lancaster Bible men's soccer team dropped its second straight game on Sunday as they lost to SUNYIT, 2-0. LBC was shutout for the second straight game as well and has scored just six goals in five games this season.

SUNYIT (4-0-1) got on the board early as Nicholas McBride scored off a pass from Kurreem Williams at 22:41 to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead. Almost 15 minutes later, Tyler Plows gave SUNYIT a 2-0 edge off a feed from Luke Bogar.

"SUNYIT was just a little more physical than we were today," Chargers Head Coach Tom Ardt said. "I thought we played well at times in the midfield, but we didn't have much an attack."

LBC sophomore goalkeeper Stefan Smith made three saves in the loss, but the Chargers managed just two shots and only one on goal.

"We didn't do enough offensively to make them respect us and give us room," Ardt said. "It was a tough day for us, but we've got to fight through the injury bug and get back to winning games."

The Chargers (1-3-1) will have to figure things out over the next few days as they prepare to host arch rival Cairn University on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The Chargers and Highlanders tied 1-1 last season in Langhorne, Pa.

Notes:
-LBC is now 0-3-1 all-time against SUNYIT.
