Box Score 2 The Lancaster Bible men's volleyball team took the court for the first two times of the 2014 season in Erie, Pa. on Saturday. Unfortunately, like five out of the past six seasons, the Chargers opened the year with a loss as host Penn St. Behrend defeated Lancaster Bible, 3-0. Lakeland offered the same treatment in the Chargers' second match as the Muskies won, 3-0 as well. Below is a quick recap of both matches.

Alex Bahn led the Chargers with nine kills and nine digs as the Nittany Lions defeated Lancaster Bible for the second straight season. Fellow senior
Mitch Demko added eight kills, while
TJ Forsythe, playing his first collegiate volleyball match, had two kills and two digs.
Ken Diller also had three kills and two blocks, while setter
Tyler Eckels added 21 assists. Junior
Paul Fulbright had two kills as well for Lancaster Bible.
Lakeland 3, Lancaster Bible 0
25-14, 25-12, 25-14
Three Muskies had eight more kills as they hammered the Chargers in three sets. Bahn and Demko combined for 19 of the Chargers' 20 kills as Bahn had 10, while Demko had nine. Diller had the other LBC kill, while Eckels had 16 assists.
"We saw some improvement, but we still have a many things to work on," Lancaster Bible Head Coach
Jade Brubaker said. "Give the guys credit though, they played hard in every single set."
The matches were the first for Brubaker as head coach of the Chargers.Â
Lancaster Bible is back in action on Thursday when they face Stevenson in Stevenson, Md. at 7:30 p.m.
