Box Score The Lancaster Bible women's basketball team saw its four-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday as the Chargers lost to Rosemont, 71-67 at Alumnae Hall in Rosemont, Pa.Â
The Chargers (5-3, 3-0 NEAC) trailed by six, 36-30 at halftime and fell behind by as many as 12 in the second half before closing the gap to four several times in the second frame. Lancaster Bible could never get over the hump and take the lead though as missed opportunities haunted them for most of the game.
"I thought we executed our offense better in the second half, but we just couldn't finish," Chargers Head Coach Doug Helsel said. "We didn't shoot well from the free throw line either and good free throw shooting has always been a staple of our team."
Though the Chargers trailed by just six at the break, Helsel was not particularly pleased with the team's play in the first 20 minutes.
"We didn't rebound well in the first half and they crushed us on the offensive glass," Helsel said. "We gave them too many easy put-backs."
The inside play of sophomore
Aubrey Folger and junior
Shanice Smith was a plus once again for the Chargers as Folger dropped 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, while Smith had 14 points and 18 boards. Sophomore
Katy Stover added 13 points as well for Lancaster Bible who fell to 6-11 all-time against the Ravens (3-7).
Rosemont's Liz Coyne led all scorers with 24 points and added 10 rebounds.Â
The Chargers will look to rebound on Monday night when they host NCAA Division II member Wilmington (Del.) at 7 p.m. The Wildcats defeated Lancaster Bible, 72-61 last season in Wilmington.

-Folger has scored 20 or more points three times this season, while Smith pulled down 18 rebounds for the third time this season.
