Chargers Rattle Off Sixth Straight

Box Score In a game that meant very little in the standings for Lancaster Bible, the Chargers sure putting on a nice shooting clinic in the first half of Friday night's 90-78 victory over SUNYIT in Utica, N.Y. Lancaster Bible shot 55.9 percent (19-of-36) from the floor en route to a 55-37 halftime lead.

SUNYIT made a charge of their own in the second half as the cut the gap to two at 71-69 with 7:47 to play, but Lancaster Bible pulled away with an 8-0 run over the next three minutes to restore its 10-point lead.

Junior Albert Suniga and sophomore CJ Dunston each had 18 points and three assists for the Chargers who won their sixth straight game, the longest streak since the 2000-01 team won nine straight games.

Junior Naheer Mirza added 15 points and three assists for Lancaster Bible, while sophomore Dondre Perry chipped in with 11 points. The Chargers turned the ball over just nine times, something head coach Marshall Tague was very pleased with.

"We took care of the ball and played well in transition again," Tague said. "The guys played hard even though we have things wrapped up and we will look to do the same again on Saturday."

Saturday will be the Chargers' final regular season game as they take on SUNY Cobleskill at 1 p.m. in Cobleskill, N.Y. Like Lancaster Bible, SUNY Cobleskill has already secured a playoff berth as they will be the fourth seed. They will have to wait and see who secures fifth place in the standings as they will play either Wells or Penn St. Berks in the 4-5 game. The winner of the 4-5 game will face Lancaster Bible in the first semifinal on March 1. Penn St. Abington and Morrisville State will face-off in the other semifinal.
