Chargers Head to Playoffs with 7th Straight Win

Box Score Lancaster Bible will enter the North Eastern Athletic Conference playoffs for the first time on a seven-game winning streak as the Chargers led wire-to-wire and defeated SUNY Cobleskill, 60-44.

Sophomore CJ Dunston led all scorers with 27 points and added eight rebounds, while junior Naheer Mirza had 12 points and seven assists. As it has for much of the season, the Chargers' defense was key in the victory as they held the Fighting Tigers to just 44 points and 17-of-52 (32.7%) shooting.

"I'm proud of the effort the guys showed this weekend," Lancaster Bible Head Coach Marshall Tague said. "The games didn't matter to the standings, but they mattered to the guys and it really showed in how they played."

Junior Albert Suniga had five points and nine boards, while sophomore Kurt Keltner added five points. Lancaster Bible's 18 wins are the second most in program history and they can tie the record with its next win.

The next chance for a win will be next Saturday in the NEAC Semifinals. The Chargers will have to wait until Friday night to learn who that opponent will be as SUNY Cobleskill will take on Penn St. Berks in the NEAC Quarterfinal held at Horst Athletic Center at 7 p.m.

The winner of that game will face Lancaster Bible on Saturday at 2 p.m. The other NEAC semifinal will feature Morrisville State and Penn St. Abington. Morrisville State defeated Abington on Saturday, 98-91.

The semifinal winners will meet in the NEAC Final on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Horst Athletic Center.
