Highlanders Too Much for Chargers

Box Score Coming off a week layoff since its last match, the Lancaster Bible men's volleyball team was swept by Cairn, 3-0 on Wednesday night at Horst Athletic Center. The Highlanders, who are now a perfect 18-0 all-time against the Chargers, won 25-20, 25-23, 25-20.

Cairn was led by Ryan Garven who had 17 kills and four digs in three sets. His .424 hitting percentage was also tops for the match as he helped the Highlanders to a .357 team hitting percentage.

Lancaster Bible senior Alex Bahn paced the Chargers with 13 kills, seven digs and two service aces, while fellow senior Mitch Demko added eight kills. Ken Diller continued his strong play for Lancaster Bible (2-9) as well with seven kills, five digs and two blocks. Freshman TJ Forsythe added two blocks and a block for Lancaster Bible and Nathan Diehl matched Bahn with two service aces.

Junior setter Tyler Eckels had 29 assists and five digs for the Chargers and fellow junior Paul Fulbright had three kills and three digs to go along with a block.

Lancaster Bible returns to North Eastern Athletic Conference play this weekend as they travel to Aurora, N.Y. on Saturday to take on Wells at 2 p.m. and Keuka at 6 p.m. The Chargers are 2-0 in NEAC play and are alone in first place.
