Lancaster Bible Swept by Eastern Mennonite

Box Score The Lancaster Bible men's volleyball team suffered its third loss of the season to Eastern Mennonite on Tuesday night at Horst Athletic Center as the Royals swept the Chargers, 3-0. Eastern Mennonite won, 25-19, 25-20, 25-17.

After losing to the Royals 3-0 earlier this season in Harrisonburg, Va., the Chargers had played Eastern Mennonite tough in a five-set loss at the York College Men's Volleyball Tournament just 10 days ago. It was apparent from the get-go however that the Royals had no intention of playing five sets again as they cruised to a 25-19 victory in the opening set.

The Chargers (3-17) played better in the second set as they lost, 25-20, but the Royals poured it on the third set and won, 25-19.

Seniors Alex Bahn and Mitch Demko led the Chargers with nine kills each, while Ken Diller added six kills and five digs. Freshman TJ Forsythe added four kills, while junior Tyler Eckels had 28 assists to go with his six digs. Junior Corey Leonard played in his first match of the season and had three kills and four digs. Junior Nathan Diehl had two digs as well for Lancaster Bible.

Eastern Mennonite (11-9) was led by Lancaster County native Jesse Reist who had 13 kills.

The Chargers return to action next Tuesday when they host Penn St. Altoona at 7:30 p.m.
