Chargers Battle in Pair of Four Set Losses

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Try as they may, the Lancaster Bible men's volleyball team just couldn't get the big point when they needed it on Wednesday night. In both of its losses on Wednesday night at Horst Athletic Center, Lancaster Bible came within one or two points of having something very special happen, but just couldn't put all of the pieces together. Below is a quick recap of each match.

Hannibal-LaGrange 3, Lancaster Bible 1
25-16, 25-17, 21-25, 25-16

In a matchup that saw Lancaster Bible Head Coach Jade Brubaker coach against his brother Justin, it was the younger brother's squad who came out victorious. The Trojans, an NAIA scholarship school, defeated the Chargers in four sets as Lancaster Bible took the third set, 25-21. Senior Mitch Demko had a team-high 11 kills, while fellow senior Alex Bahn had 10 kills. Ken Diller added eight kills and three blocks, while TJ Forsythe chipped in with five kills.

Stevenson 3, Lancaster Bible 1
25-17, 27-25, 14-25, 25-20

The Chargers had two set points during the second set, but couldn't capitalize as they fell behind 2-0 before pulling out the third set, 25-14. A back-and-forth fourth set went to the Mustangs as they won the final five points.

Bahn had a match-high 15 kills, while Demko added 10 kills. Diller had one of his better matches of the season as he had six kills, 10 digs and five aces. Tyler Eckels had 34 assists and five digs, while Paul Fulbright added four kills and four digs.

Lancaster Bible returns to the court this weekend when they travel to Jamaica, N.Y. to take part in the York (N.Y.) College Men's Volleyball Tournament. The Chargers will play York and Eastern Mennonite on Friday and New Jersey City and Polytechnic on Saturday.
