The Lancaster Bible men's volleyball team dropped its home opener to Stevenson, 3-0 on Thursday night at Horst Athletic Center as the Mustangs won, 25-20, 25-15, 25-12.Â
In the first set, it was Lancaster Bible who stormed out of the gate and took an early 11-5 lead over the Mustangs. Stevenson regained its footing and rattled off four straight points to cut the deficit to 11-9, but Lancaster Bible held its lead all the way until 19-18 when Stevenson finally got over the hump and tied the match on an ace from David Moler.
From that point on, the Mustangs had complete control of the match as the scored six of the final seven points to take the first set and cruised to victories in the second and third sets.
Sophomore
TJ Forsythe led the Chargers with eight kills on Thursday night, while freshman
Justin Stoltzfus added five kills and four digs. Senior
Paul Fulbright had 15 assists to go along with two big blocks and sophomore
Derek Bigley had four kills and three digs.
Stevenson was led by Kyle Wisner's 10 kills. The Mustangs improved to 20-3 all-time against Lancaster Bible.
The Chargers return to the court on Tuesday when they host Eastern Mennonite at 6 p.m.
