The Lancaster Bible men's soccer team opened its final weekend of the regular season with a 4-0 victory over SUNY Cobleskill on Friday afternoon. The Chargers are 12-4-3 overall and 8-2-1 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play. Lancaster Bible had already clinched a playoff spot prior to the game, and Friday's win could help the Chargers secure a spot in the NEAC Semifinals. How it Happened: The Chargers scored just 5:27 into the game as freshman
Eric Bailey netted his third goal of the season off a pass from
Josiah Groff. Lancaster Bible controlled play throughout the first half and converted the first of two penalty kicks at 27:30 when
Arturo Ortega Marcos scored to make it 2-0.Â
After holding their 2-0 lead through halftime, Nathan Recalo scored his second goal of the season 16 minutes into the second half as he beat the SUNY Cobleskill goalkeeper in the box. Fellow senior
Alex Vocature put the game away at 79:22 when he scored on a penalty kick for his first goal of the year.
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible outshot the Fighting Tigers, 27-7, including 21-6 in shots on goal...The Chargers also had a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks...SUNY Cobleskill goalkeepers Tanner Puff and Wesley Rottkamp combined to make 17 saves, while
Vann Sutphin and
Denis Tarasov combined for six saves for the Chargers...14 different Lancaster Bible players recorded a shot, including

Ben Noel and
Jared Steiner.
