The Lancaster Bible men's soccer team won its fourth straight game and extended its unbeaten streak to five games as the Chargers defeated Wilson, 3-0 in Chambersburg, Pa. The victory moves the Chargers to 7-2-3 this season and 4-2-1 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play.
How it Happened: Wilson had the early shots on goal as the Phoenix took seven shots before the Chargers attempted one. However, Lancaster Bible's first shot was a good one as sophomore Nathan Recalo scored the first collegiate goal of his career to give the Chargers a 1-0 lead 23:27 into the contest. A game after recording his first collegiate point with an assist, Recalo added his first collegiate goal to give the Chargers all the scoring they would need.
The score remained 1-0 through halftime and a 30-minute weather delay caused by lightning in the area. The game resumed with 26:33 to play and the Chargers took advantage of the remaining minutes as they fired seven shots and scored twice. The first goal came off the foot of
Jared Steiner who converted a shot from the left-hand side of the field with 7:25 remaining. Senior
Josiah Groff scored 1:54 later to put the game away as he converted a free kick from just outside the box that tipped off of the goalkeeper and into the net.
