The Lancaster Bible men's basketball team begins its quest for the program's first-ever NCCAA Division II National Championship on Thursday as the Chargers will face 10th-seeded Manhattan Christian (Kan.) at 1:30 p.m. The Thunder upset 7th-seeded North Central, 69-68 on Wednesday and will look to keep their Cinderella run going against the 2nd-seeded Chargers. 

Lancaster Bible (25-3) is looking to improve on last season's third place finish at the NCCAA National Tournament, which was the best finish in program history. The Chargers lost a tough semifinal game to Arlington Baptist, 75-65 a year ago, but rebounded to defeat Grace Bible, 94-72 in the Third Place Game. Lancaster Bible had to pull off the same feat this season as they overcame a devastating loss in the North Eastern Athletic Conference Final to beat Valley Forge, 84-64 in the NCCAA East Region Final.

Manhattan Christian (15-16) won the NCCAA Central Region Championship to earn its trip to the NCCAA National Tournament. The Thunder began the year with a 2-11 record, but have played very well since mid-January and are now one game from reaching the .500 mark for the first time all season. The Thunder are a young team as they have five freshman, two sophomores, two juniors and a senior. 

Lancaster Bible and Manhattan Christian did not have any of the same opponents this season, so both teams will go into the game with limited knowledge of one another.
