The final North Eastern Athletic Conference Weekend of the season for the Lancaster Bible men's volleyball team began with two losses as the Chargers lost in three sets to both Hilbert and Medaille in Buffalo, N.Y. Sunday was no better for Lancaster Bible as the Chargers lost, 3-0 to D'Youville who is in second place in the current NEAC standings. The Chargers will conclude their regular season with Senior Night on Wednesday when they host Penn St. Altoona at 7:30 p.m.
Hilbert 3, Lancaster Bible 0
25-19, 25-14, 26-24Both teams came into the match with just one win on the season, but it was Hilbert who earned number two as the Hawks won in three sets. Senior
Corey Leonard led the Chargers with eight kills, while
Caleb Strite had six kills and two blocks. Sophomore
Derek Bigley added four kills and a team-high 11 digs and senior
Nathan Diehl had five kills and six digs.Â
Lancaster Bible had 14 of its 28 kills in the third set as the Chargers battled back from a 24-20 deficit to tie the match at 24-24, but couldn't complete the comeback and lost, 26-24.
Medaille 3, Lancaster Bible 0
25-10, 25-18, 25-13The NEAC's top team dispatched the Chargers in three sets for the second time this season as the Mavericks improved to 16-12 overall and 12-1 in conference play. The loss dropped Lancaster Bible to 1-24 overall and 0-13 in NEAC play.Â
Leonard once again led the Chargers as he had six kills and three digs, while fellow senior
Paul Fulbright had 15 assists. Freshman
Justin Stoltzfus had a team-high eight digs for the Chargers and
Alex Woelkers added three kills and three blocks.
Freddie Vargas chipped in with a dig as well for the Chargers.
D'Youville 3, Lancaster Bible 0
25-21, 25-20, 25-20The Chargers ended the weekend with a 3-0 loss to D'Youville as the Spartans handed Lancaster Bible its 18th straight three-set loss. Lancaster Bible had six kills in each set and was led by Leonard once again as he had five kills and seven digs. Stoltzfus added a team-high 10 digs, while Woelkers had four kills, four digs and four blocks.
Strite added three kills, two blocks and two aces for the Chargers as well and Fulbright had 12 assists.
