Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse | | Zach Freeman

Mighty Macs Power Past Chargers

The Lancaster Bible women's lacrosse team played its final non-conference game of the season on Tuesday and just like four of the other five non-conference games this season, it ended in a loss for the Chargers as Immaculata defeated Lancaster Bible, 19-5 at Charger Field. Lancaster Bible falls to 2-10 this season and finishes the season 1-4 in non-conference play.

The Mighty Macs (8-5) scored three goals in the first 2:53 of the game to take a quick 3-0 lead, but Lancaster Bible sophomore Joanna Shughart got the Chargers on the board 3:42 into the contest with her sixth goal of the season. After Immaculata restored its three-goal lead, back-to-back goals from sophomore Alyssa Wesner cut Lancaster Bible's deficit to one with 20:32 to play in the first half.

Two more first half goals from Wesner kept the Chargers in the game, but the Mighty Macs began to take control as they scored six times in the final eight minutes of the half to take a 12-5 lead into halftime.

Immaculata imposed its will in the second half as the Mighty Macs shut the Chargers out and scored seven goals of their own en route to a 19-5 victory. Wesner finished with four goals, while Myranda Kemrer and Cheyenne Benson each added an assist.

Allison Jakavick led Immaculata with six goals.

Lancaster Bible will wrap-up its season this weekend with two North Eastern Athletic Conference games. The Chargers will head to Abington, Pa. on Friday to take on Penn St. Abington at 4 p.m. and conclude the season on Saturday at 1 p.m. with a home contest against Bryn Athyn.
