The Lancaster Bible women's soccer team celebrated Homecoming with a win as the Chargers shutout Morrisville State, 3-0 at Charger Field. The victory improves Lancaster Bible to 4-4 overall and 3-0 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Mustangs are now 2-6 overall and 1-3 in NEAC play.
How it Happened: Lancaster Bible controlled play from the opening whistle and sophomore
Raegan Horst got the Chargers on the board just 4:31 into the game when she blasted in a shot from just outside the box past Morrisville State goalkeeper Angela Marriott. The goal was Horst's second of the season and junior
Kirsten Webster was credited with the assist.
Lancaster Bible continued to dominate play after the goal and junior
Alyssa Wesner netted her third goal of the season at the 23:29 mark to extend Lancaster Bible's lead to 2-0 off a pass from
Maddie Dionne. The score remained the same through halftime and the Chargers put the game away for good at the 69:25 mark as freshman
Alexa Evans scored the first goal of her collegiate career off a pass from Horst. Evans' shot curled past a diving Marriott into the lower left-hand side of the net to give the Chargers a 3-0 lead.
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible outshot the Mustangs, 25-3 and held a 12-0 edge in corner kicks...Marriott made seven saves in goal for the Mustangs, while senior
Kaitlyn Scheuing had two saves for the Chargers.
