The Lancaster Bible men's volleyball team took to the road for the first time this season on Wednesday night and was defeated by Eastern Mennonite, 3-0 in Harrisonburg, Va. The loss drops the Chargers to 0-2 this season, while the Royals improved to 2-2 in 2016.
How it Happened: Lancaster Bible dropped the first set, 25-11, but battled back in the second set and trailed just 13-12 before Eastern Mennonite rattled off seven of the set's next eight points to take a 20-13 lead. The Chargers battled back and cut their deficit to 21-17, but could not get closer and dropped the second set, 25-18.
Eastern Mennonite opened an early 8-3 lead in the third set, but the Chargers roared back with seven of the next eight points and trailed just 11-10 midway through the third frame. Lancaster Bible would eventually knot the set at 14-14, but the Royals once again pulled away late and won the set, 25-18.Â
