The Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team won its fifth straight game on Friday as the Chargers crushed St. Elizabeth, 8-0 in Morristown, N.J. The victory moves the Chargers to 11-4 overall and 10-1 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play. The Eagles are now 2-13 overall and 0-10 in NEAC action.
How it Happened: Lancaster Bible scored three times in the first 6:27 of the contest and never looked back. Senior
Alyssa Wesner had the opening two goals for the Chargers, while junior
Rachel Kumher added the third. Freshmen
Barb Foster and
Danni DeVinney also scored in the first half for Lancaster Bible as the Chargers took a 5-0 lead into halftime.
In the second half, senior
Kaitlyn Scheuing made a little history for herself as she not only took the field for one of the view times in her career, but she also scored her first collegiate goal. Junior
Abi Brady crossed the ball into the middle and Scheuing was there and deposited it into the back of the net. Scheuing picked up an assist about 17 minutes later as
Raegan Horst made it 7-0. DeVinney added her second of the game a few minutes later to cap the scoring.
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible outshot St. Elizabeth, 35-0, including 19-0 in shots on goal...The Chargers had 18 corner kicks...Horst finished with a goal and three assists...The three assists for Horst ties a career-high which she set earlier this season against SUNY Polytechnic...Kumher had a goal and an assist...
