The Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team clinched the second spot in next month's North Eastern Athletic Conference Playoffs with a 1-0 victory over Penn College on Saturday at Charger Field. Lancaster Bible has now won six straight games and is 12-4 overall and 11-1 in NEAC play. The Wildcats dropped to 9-7-1 overall and 8-3 in NEAC action.
How it Happened: In a game that did not feature a lot of offense, each team took turns in the first half holding possession of the ball, as the Chargers opened the first 15 minutes of the game with solid possession, while Penn College responded soon after with control of the play. The Chargers led 10-0 at halftime in shots, but just 1-0 in shots on goal as much of the play was in the midfield during the opening 45 minutes.
Just over a minute into the second half,
Abi Brady got into the box and as she tried to split two defenders, she was tripped up and drew a foul which resulted in a penalty kick. Junior
Raegan Horst stepped to the ball and converted her fourth PK of the season and gave the Chargers a 1-0 lead.Â
Five minutes later, Penn College took their only shot of the game, but it was saved by Lancaster Bible senior
Kaitlyn Scheuing. The Wildcats had a corner kick late in the contest, but could not convert the chance and the Chargers held on for their sixth win a row.
