Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Zach Freeman

Chargers Race Past Bison

Coming off its worst loss of the season, the Lancaster Bible College men's soccer team responded in a big way as the Chargers defeated Gallaudet, 5-0 on Wednesday at Charger Field. The victory improves the Chargers to 5-6 overall and 3-4 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Bison dropped to 3-8-1 overall and 2-5-1 in conference action.

How it Happened: The teams went back-and-forth for much of the first half, though the Chargers had the majority of the offensive chances. Lancaster Bible finally broke through at 35:32 when Marco Patz scored his second goal of the season off a feed from Edward Bills. Some of the Gallaudet defenders thought Bills may have been offside, but no flag came up from the linesman and Bills sent a pass through the box that found Patz on the far side of the net and he deposited it into the back of the goal to give the Chargers a 1-0 lead.

Senior Jeff Edman doubled the lead just before halftime as Edman collected a loose ball on the right side of the box and fired a shot short-side that found the back of the net.

Lancaster Bible continued to control much of the play in the second half and extended its lead to 3-0 on a goal from freshman Dan Bewersdorff. Patz netted his second tally of the game at 72:23 off a feed from Caleb Nelson and Nathan Recalo scored 5:59 later to cap the scoring and give Lancaster Bible a 5-0 win.
