The Lancaster Bible College men's soccer team won its second straight game on Saturday as the Chargers defeated Wilson, 3-0 behind two terrific goals from junior defensemen
Justin Stoltzfus. The Chargers moved back to .500 with the win as Lancaster Bible is now 6-6 overall and 4-4 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play.
How it Happened: The teams spent much of the first half going back-and-forth in the midfield, though the Chargers did have much of the possession and had a few good scoring chances as well. After Wilson began to have a bit more of the possession late in the first half, the Chargers drew a foul about 35 yards away from the goal and Stoltzfus stepped to the ball. His drive went to the right-hand side of the goal and rung off the crossbar and into the net for his first tally of the season.Â
The score remained 1-0 through halftime, but Stoltzfus doubled Lancaster Bible's lead at 63:44 as he drilled another ball in from long range, this time to the left-hand side of the net past the outstretched Wilson goalkeeper. The Chargers' bench erupted as Stoltzfus gave Lancaster Bible some insurance and
Marco Patz sealed the victory 16 minutes later as he scored his third goal in two games and fourth this season to give the Chargers a 3-0 lead.

The Coach Says: "We didn't execute in the run of play well enough today, but we were OK because of some great individual efforts and this was a great team win," Lancaster Bible Head Coach
Tom Ardt said. "We have things to work on, but Justin's goals were fantastic and we had some huge stops by our keeper and the back line. Guys off the bench did well to pick up the level and this is huge for us as we look ahead to next weekend's big games in New York."
